"Chasing Down Monhegan's Apples: Histories, Mysteries and Results" a talk by Todd Little-Siebold, Professor of History, College of the Atlantic
This talk will examine the history of orcharding on Monhegan with a focus on the result of the recent DNA testing undertaken on the Island. This will cover new findings about the documented history of apples along the coast as well as DNA evidence of trees sampled two years ago. We will explore efforts to capture the oldest apple genetics on the coast as well as recent finds elsewhere.
