Dear members of the Monhegan Museum community,

While the world is in the midst of a public health crisis unprecedented in our lifetimes, we want to take a moment to update you as to the plans we are implementing at the Monhegan Museum to keep our staff and public safe.

Effective immediately, we have asked our staff to work to the extent possible from home.  Since our curator’s office is a small space where the recommended social distancing is really not feasible, we will limit access to the office to one staff member at a time if work must be completed on site.  We will also be instituting recommended hygiene measures such as disinfecting of surfaces to mitigate any possible spread of virus.  All staff will continue to receive uninterrupted regular pay during this period.

These measures will be in effect until further notice.

We have received inquiries about the opening of our summer season.  It is too early to make definitive plans, which will be formulated in consultation with the Museum’s Board of Directors, and with a goal to provide protection for the health and well-being of our Museum staff, volunteers, and visitors, as well as the wider community.

The Monhegan Museum will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely, and will issue email updates as further developments occur.

We thank you for your patience and ongoing interest and support,

Jenn & Bob
